Clean Laundry Opens Brand New Laundromat in Ottumwa, IA

Iowa Based State-of-the-Art laundromat brand brings a fresh concept to downtown Ottumwa

Clean Laundry opened their doors to the public at 304 E. Main Street in downtown Ottumwa today. The laundromat will be offering free wash and dry through the month of March, so bring your dirty laundry and get it done in just ONE HOUR!  This store marks the fifth city in Iowa, where we also have stores in Cedar Rapids, Des Moines, Iowa City, and Waterloo. This is an exciting moment for us as we started our first store in Waterloo, IA, and we’re proud to continue opening new stores in Iowa and across the country!

What is Clean Laundry?

Clean Laundry is a modern-day laundromat with machines capable of washing and drying loads in as little as one hour. This revolutionary brand of laundromat features mobile-pay options, free high-speed Wi-Fi,  large screen HDTVs, USB charging stations, and seating areas. Outfitted with bright LED lighting, stainless-steel machines, and state-of-the-art security surveillance, the Clean Laundry brand has differentiated itself from traditional laundromats.

Why a Clean Laundry in Ottumwa?

“The people of Ottumwa deserve a clean place to do laundry” Phil Akin, owner of this and 2 other Clean Laundry locations, says “this downtown location will do just that.” Akin, along with his son, Ethan, started Clean Laundry in 2014 in Waterloo. The store has been hiring locally in Ottumwa, and Kali Francis has been added to the team as a store manager. The store is in operation daily and will be open from 5 am to 11 pm. There is a private parking lot, adjacent to the rear entrance.
