We recently opened a store in Fort Dodge, Iowa for the first time! We opened our doors to the community at, 2819 3rd Ave S. Like all Clean Laundry locations, this is not your average laundromat. Ft. Dodge laundromat users will experience a delightful, enjoyable, and refreshing laundry day! For one of the first times ever, our store features coinless equipment with state-of-the-art touchscreen stainless steel express machines that allow you to wash and dry in less than an hour. Visit us to see the 2,500 square foot store of light, bright, and 60 shiny new machines.

High Tech Laundry For Your Convenience

The store comes with a kiosk application and mobile-pay contactless option that allows you to control and operate your laundry from your mobile device, without a need for coins. You can monitor the store’s wait times and your laundry progress using the app! The store is equipped with free high-speed Wi-Fi, and large screen HDTVs. Our Ft. Dodge location features bright LED lighting, stainless-steel machines, and state-of-the-art security surveillance. All this technology differentiates the Clean Laundry brand from traditional laundromats and elevates your laundromat experience!

A Look In The Past

Clean Laundry was launched in 2014 in Waterloo, Iowa by father-and-son duo Phil and Ethan Akin. Recognizing that there was an underserved marketplace to do laundry in a clean and comfortable facility, the Akin family created a space where the customer experience was most important. Positive customer feedback and multi-location success sparked investment from Clickstop Inc., acquiring the brand in 2018. The Akin family is very much still involved in the brand growth and ownership of several locations including Ft. Dodge. Today, Clean Laundry has over 30 locations in Iowa, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Kansas, Ohio, Missouri, Florida, Arizona, and Texas.

Phil Akin has been in the laundromat business since the 1980s, he knows the industry in and out. Akin feels strongly about providing a great laundromat experience to all guests.

“We set out to make the chore of doing laundry the best part of our customer’s day. Our facilities put a strong emphasis on being the cleanest laundromat that focuses on giving our customer’s time back” says Akin. “We say it’s about time, meaning that it’s time for everyone in Fort Dodge to get a nice place to do laundry, and not have to spend all day at the laundromat.”

Store opening after store opening and we’re not slowing down! With over thirty locations open and several more under construction, we showcase a bright, clean, and comfortable space for all laundry needs. Locations in Iowa spread the state in the cities of Cedar Rapids, Des Moines, Fort Dodge, Waterloo, Dubuque, Iowa City, Ottumwa, and soon-to-come Oskaloosa and another in Waterloo. Along with locations growing in Iowa, we have stores coming in Delaware and Oklahoma too!
